Present Perfect (since and for)


The present perfect connects the past to the present. Use it to talk about actions or states that began in the past and continue into the present.


Use for to talk about a period of time.

    - He has worked here for ten years. 
         
    - I’ve studied English for two years.

Use since to indicate duration from a specific point in time.


I have lived here since 1997                        They have studied since 1985.
